Alyssa will often humour me if I ask her to do something particular for a photo…well at least for two shots and then that’s it, she’s off.

This boy started the year off still in a cot, and now, he’s looking like such a big boy…

Entertaining Zach

The Cooper’s came over with an almost 6 month old Zach (where on earth has that time gone?)  and the kids had a great time entertaining him.  I’m not quite sure what Bailey was doing with the Peppa Pigs but Zach looked enthralled…

Wide eyed wonder

We took the kids for a drive tonight to see some christmas lights and cam upon pure magic a suburb away.  Two neighbouring houses with sparkling, twinkling lights, numerous glowing father christmas ornaments and reindeer and a nativity and a train set and many snowmen and much more.

The kids were stunned by the sheer christmas magic, especially the little man who stood ever so quietly taking it all in…

Loving the bump

Alyssa is so excited about the baby and the prospect of a new sister or brother in the new year.  She will often come up and say hello or goodnight to Nemo (the baby’s name in utero), and then give the bump a kiss.

Why did the chicken cross the road…

The kids have been telling jokes to each other lately.  Well, the one joke, which Alyssa often varies to “to get to the park to do a poo on the slide” (what is it with poo humour and preschoolers?).  This was Bailey’s turn to tell Alyssa the joke…

Give a kid an empty box…

and they’ll have fun for ages.  Even though our tree and decorations made it up last week, the empty storage boxes are still sat in the hallway since Dan has been too busy drinking I mean, networking to put them back in the roof space.  But it kept the kids happy tonight, so I won’t complain too much.

Aah, an alien

Apparentley the camera and I was an alien to Alyssa.  I’d sat on the floor to take some pictures and she kept running up and down the corrider, screaming “aah, an alien” everytime she ran back to me.  Made for some great shots though…when I got her in focus!

A weekend away

The wedding we attended was in the Barossa Valley, a wine region out the other side of the city.  So we left the kids with my parents (thanks guys!) and made a weekend of it.

We stayed in this quaint cottage, had a beautiful meal on the Friday night at the Lyndoch Hill Winery and a quiet walk around the town of Tanunda after a home-cooked breakfast.  It was lovely to spend some quality time together, although having the kids seems to have killed the ability to sleep in past 8.  And by Sunday morning, we were both admitting to feeling a bit lost with out the kids.
